The Students of Patrick Henry College
photo

Patrick Henry College is a small school with big ambitions, and some would say out-sized influence. Its stated goal is to prepare Christian men and women to lead the nation and shape its culture with biblical values. It promotes strict interpretation of the Bible, which means science professors teach that creationism is both biblically true and consistent with observable fact.

Patrick Henry College is dedicated to training a new generation of Christian politicians –and it’s doing just that. Its students are among the nation’s brightest — with internships in the White House, with Republican politicians, and at conservative think-tanks.

Guests:

Rachel Williams, senior majoring in government public policy

Brian Wright, senior, majoring in stratetic intelligence

Judah Kiley, majoring in literature

Listening to these young students talk, I grew increasingly disgusted.

Disgusted by their ignorance of the world, of science, of history, of other religions, even of the country where they were born. Disgusted by the smarmy certainty that they hold the truth for all of us, facts notwithstanding. By the rhetoric used to justify their point (as if words prove anything). Do not be fooled by their talk of “family values” – it just shows they think that biblical fundamentalists have a monopoly on family and morality. With such people positioned to enter in our government, we need not worry about the Chinese, the Iranians or anyone else. They will lead us back in the Dark Ages all on their own.
